Experience

Jaime has over seventeen years of public accounting experience with Landa Umpierre PSC and other local firms. In our firm he has raise through the ranks from a tax consultant to tax partner. His first experience was in the Department of the Treasury of Puerto Rico where he performed as a tax examiner of corporate and individual returns before being assigned to a specialized unit in charge of the examination of complex corporations and specialized industries.

In public accounting Jaime has provided a wide range of tax and accounting services to individuals, estates and corporations including technical advice in the process of liquidation of estates and corporations. He has served as tax consultant fro local and international financial, manufacturing and commercial entities doing business in Puerto Rico, including services in the area of tax litigation and examinations by the Treasury Department. In addition, he has actively participated in important business acquisition and reorganization transactions that have taken place in Puerto Rico.

Jaime is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants(AICPA), the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner. He has also served as technical instructor in various tax seminars sponsored by the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants and other business institutions.

Education

Jaime is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Puerto Rico and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Major in Accounting. In addition, he has attended several technical seminars in the areas of taxes, auditing and accounting in Puerto Rico
